For ongoing rental assistance, you can apply through HUD. Waiting lists are not always open, and they may tell you that the waiting list is long. Do not let that stop you - apply anyway! They generally consider Veterans first, Disabled second and single parents with children third. Many counselors are willing to sign a medical form from HUD, acknowledging that you have a "disability" if you are being seen for depression or anxiety due to post cult recovery and this can bump you up on the list!

What is Transitional Housing? Basically, this term refers to housing such as "SOBER LIVING," "HALFWAY HOUSES," & hard to find residential housing for those working their way through "RE-ENTRY PROGRAMS." This site is  for those finding it difficult to manage drug or alcohol recovery, in addition to managing their basic needs such as housing, employment and counseling. Also, upon release after incarceration, many find it difficult to find employment and housing. Don't give up! Click on the tab below!

For those that are fortunate enough to have left the sect they were involved in with the least amount of financial difficulties, these individuals might appreciate the following link to affordable homes in their areas.
